Liuzhou Jogging / Running

Muybridge_runnerA reader has asked for information on a topic I know nothing about (more common than I advertise).

He wants to go running / jogging in Liuzhou.  I never run. If I’m in a hurry, I take a taxi.

To almost quote his communication

It would be very fine to find the opportunity to take part in one jogging track or athletic competition, but it would be only for the fun. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you know a race in town or nearby.

(I’ve removed some personal info.)

Over to you.

Every afternoon students jog around the track at GXUST (Guangxi University of Science and Technology – LL) ( 268 Donghuan Avenue). Nothing organized, just people running for exercise. I don’t know if your correspondent would consider this “competition… only for the fun”.

Thanks for that Jim. I have already told him many colleges and schools have running tracks (some used more than others), but specific examples are very useful.

When I was teaching at Middle School 13, I ran quite extensively in Liuzhou. My primary spot was Long Tan park. Other than that, the footpath along the river is nice.

Competition is much harder to find. I competed in a race on New Years Day (Jan 1), starting at the stadium and going around the eastern part of the city. I’ve also heard Nanning has a Half Marathon in December.

There is a nice track at the campus of Liuzhou Vocational College on Shewan Rd, but I ran around the often empty park up the street.
