Liuzhou Uses SMS to Calm Water Panic

At 23:36 on Friday 27th January 2012, Liuzhou officials sent this message to all cell phones in the city.

To cut a long story short, and if I’ve got my translating hat on the right way round, it says something along the lines of:

Don’t worry about your tap water. It’s safe. If it becomes necessary to control the water supply, we will give 24 hours notice via the media.

As a precaution, I have been drinking nothing but beer since the news broke.

 Cheers!
