Wishful Thinking

Do I detect a faint glimmer of hope on some distant horizon or is it just wishful thinking? Is this the end of the wedge opposite the thick one? According to China Daily yesterday, Shenzhen authorities have banned e-bikes from the majority of its streets for a six month trial period. I quote: “Shenzhen, in Guangdong […]

“In a basement down the stairs”

For the last few days, I’ve been holed up at home with the worst cold and cough since Elsie’s cough was taken by the Cough Collector and it seems that I have been very lucky! Had I ventured out at all, it would have been to go shopping where I might have met a gruesome […]

See me! Feel me! Touch me! Heal me!

I know this is not of Liuzhou origin, but it was in Liuzhou that I came across it, so… Bad advertising taste of the week/month/year so far award goes to: As available in an optometrist’s shop near you. (Well, near me, actually.) If you don’t know who Helen Keller is/was, then a) you are not Chinese. […]
